Spain’s Reig Jofre and the firm’s local partner Kimia Farma have launched the anesthetic Remikaf (remifentanil) in Indonesia.
The state-owned company Kimia Farma is the only local pharmaceutical company licensed to import and distribute controlled substances in the country.
Reig Jofre said the agreement is “of additional value to Reig Jofre since it will open new business opportunities in the Southeast Asia market for the commercialization of this anesthetic.”
The deal would also allow for “the introduction of other product ranges with the aid of Kimia Farma, who holds the largest market share in the area for the import and distribution of psychotropic products and a significant share on hospital setting for the rest of pharmaceutical products,” the firm said in a statement.
