The multi-billion dollar merger of pharmacy CVS Health and insurer Aetna has been approved by New York state, the last regulatory hurdle for the deal to be finalized.
State regulators stipulated that there must be enhanced consumer and health insurance rate protections, as well as privacy controls, and a $40 million commitment to support health insurance education.
The $69 billion merger is now expected to be finalized on Wednesday, with the state of California and federal authorities having given their blessing already.
