BRIEF—Hansa Medical appoints new CEO and president

Sweden’s Hansa Medical has appointed former Vifor Pharma CEO Søren Tulstrup as president and chief executive, effective immediately.

Prior to joining Vifor Pharma, he served as a senior VP at Shire Pharmaceuticals, and was CEO of Santaris Pharma, now part of Roche.

Hansa Medical, which is developing novel immunomodulatory enzymes, said the acting CEO Ulf Wiinberg would revert to his former role as chairman. Birgit Stattin Norinder reverts to her former role as member of the board of directors.
