A new report commissioned by the Medicines Australia Special Interest Group finds there is a disparity between rates of compensation for men and for women in the pharmaceutical industry.
The research finds that new female employees are paid on average 5.2% less than males starting in the same role, and that 66% of leadership roles are held by men.
The report, titled “Creating an industry where everyone thrives,” was launched by the Pharma Australia Gender Equity (PAGE) group, which was set up to support the improvement of gender equality in the Australian pharma industry.
