Sotirios Stergiopoulos has been appointed chief medical officer French drugmaker Ipsen.
Dr Stergiopoulos joined Ipsen in January 2017 as senior vice president, head of global medical affairs (GMA) and will retain this position in addition to the role as the new Chief Medical Officer within the company. Dr Stergiopoulos reports to Dr Alexandre Lebeaut, executive VP R&D and chief scientific officer.
Prior to joining Ipsen, Dr Stergiopoulos was VP, head of global medical affairs oncology at Baxalta (now Shire, Cambridge, MA), and also served in executive medicals positions at Celgene, Novartis and Bayer in the USA.
