UK drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline will start using wholesalers to distribute its drugs in its home country.
The pharmacy wholesalers Phoenix UK, AAH and Alliance Healthcare have agreed to distribute GSK’s prescription medicines to community pharmacies, hospitals and dispensing doctors across the UK, reports The Pharmaceutical Journal.
These changes, a move away from GSK's current direct-to-pharmacy model, will take effect from November 1, though it will still be possible to order GSK’s vaccines online.
