New US web-based safety report system
US Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson has named a PatentSafety Task Force to set up a user-friendly Internet-based patient safety reporting system. This initiative, involving the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration and the Health Care Financing Administration, aims to improve and streamline existing systems without creating new federal reporting requirements.
