The European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) Committee for Human Medicinal Products (CHMP) has elected Bruno Sepodes as its new chair.
Starting his three-year mandate this week, Professor Sepodes succeeds Harald Enzmann, who completed the maximum two three-year terms allowed for CHMP chairs.
Professor Sepodes has worked as senior expert for INFARMED, the Portuguese National Authority for Medicines and Health Products, since 2005. He has extensive experience working with EMA, notably as member and vice-chair of the CHMP, member of the Committee for Advanced Therapies, member and chair of the Committee for Orphan Medicinal Products, and co-chair of EMA’s Emergency Task Force.
