Two new EU approvals for AstraZeneca

UK pharma major AstraZeneca (LSE: AZN) today reported extended approvals in Europe for two of its cancer drugs: Imfinzi (durvalumab) and Enhertu (trastuzumab deruxtecan).

Imfinzi generated 2024 sales of $4.72 billion, up 17%, while Enhertu revenues reported by AstraZeneca came in at $1.98 billion, a rise of 54%.

The European Union (EU) authorized Imfinzi for the treatment of adults with resectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) at high risk of recurrence and no epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations or anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangements. In this regimen, patients are treated with Imfinzi in combination with neoadjuvant chemotherapy before surgery and as adjuvant monotherapy after surgery.
