The World Health Organization (WHO) is to convene a global research and innovation forum in an attempt to promote an international response to the coronavirus, 2019-nCoV.
The forum will bring together leading scientists, public health agencies, ministries of health and research funders. Parties involved in public health research and the development of vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics will attend.
Building on existing SARS and MERS coronavirus research, topics for discussion include identifying the source of the virus as well as sharing of biological samples and genetic sequences.
