The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a statement warning that the decline in annual HIV infections in the USA has stopped, with the number of new infections in the country stabilizing in recent years.
A new report from the CDC, looking at the most recent data on HIV trends in the USA from 2010 to 2016, reveals that, following years of declining infection rates, the number of new HIV infections began to level off in 2013.
There are currently about 39,000 new HIV infections diagnosed in the USA each year.
