The Ukraine government has officially imposed state control on the prices of drugs in the domestic market, according to press service of the Ministry of Health.
According to decisions of the local government, retail markups in the country’s pharmaceutical market will vary in the range of 10-25%, both for domestic and imported drugs. So far, such markups have reached 100-170% and the government did not have efficient means to restrict the growth of prices.
According to Oleksandr Sych, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister, the introduction of state regulation over pricing in the national pharmaceutical market will make drugs more affordable for the local population.
