British charity Cancer Research UK has extended a strategic alliance with Astex Pharmaceuticals, dedicated to the discovery and development of novel small molecule therapeutics.
The organization has been working with the firm for more than a decade, together with scientists from Newcastle University, to find new cancer drugs with associated biomarkers.
Astex is a unit of Japanese drugmaker Otsuka Pharmaceutical (TYO: 4578).
