UK agrees to fund new lupus medicine Lupkynis

Japan’s Otsuka Pharmaceuticals (TYO: 4578) has secured a positive reimbursement decision in the UK for Lupkynis (voclosporin).

The British pricing agency, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), has recommended the product, in combination with mycophenolate mofetil (MMF), as an option for certain lupus patients.

The recommendation applies to adults with active lupus nephritis (LN) class III, IV or V, when provided through a commercially arranged patient access scheme.
