US public health officials have been ordered to immediately suspend all collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) following an executive order by President Donald Trump, which initiates the country’s withdrawal from the global health body.
Leadership at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have reportedly issued a memo ordering participation in WHO technical working groups, advisory boards, and joint initiatives to be terminated.
CDC employees have also been prohibited from visiting WHO offices or engaging in cooperative agreements.
