Trump's budget proposal promises to 'fix injustice of high drug prices'

US President Donald Trump has made slashing drug prices a priority in his fiscal year 2020 budget.

Mr Trump’s budget is taking “bold steps to increase access and reduce drug costs for Americans,” the proposal document states, and it quotes the President’s own words when he said in January: “One of my greatest priorities is to reduce the price of prescription drugs.

"Prices will come down"“In many other countries, these drugs cost far less than what we pay in the USA. That is why I have directed my administration to make fixing the injustice of high drug prices one of our top priorities. Prices will come down.”
