The Organization of Pharmaceutical Producers of India’s (OPPI) annual human resources summit focused on diversity and inclusion, compliance and employee value proposition.

In his inaugural address, Shailesh Ayyangar, president of OPPI and managing director for India and vice president for South Asia at Sanofi (Euronext: SAN), said: "The Indian pharmaceutical industry has been evolving over the last few decades. Today, there is a need to build an innovative, collaborative and patient-centric workforce. The industry should focus on developing robust HR strategies that provide sustainable solutions for developing and retaining talent."

The keynote presentation by Mukund Rajan, group executive council member and brand custodian at Tata Sons Limited, highlighted: "There is a need for a well-defined sense of mission and purpose which forms the basis of a good organization and defines the organizational culture. Further, this influences behavior of employees and ultimately the performance of the company."
