The US Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) has announced two strategic partnerships with the USA’s The Medicines Company (NYSE: MDCO) and Swiss pharma giant Roche (ROG: SIX), to develop innovative products to combat the growing threat of multi-drug resistant bacterial infections.

ASPR’s Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) will manage a portfolio of products with each company.
