The lack of association between the MMR vaccine and autism has been confirmed once more by data published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

The study’s investigators assessed the rates of autism spectrum disorder in more than 95,000 children, and found no link between the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine and autism, even in children with older siblings who had the condition.

Study participants were identified using an administrative claims database associated with a major commercial health plan, with all participants required to have continuous healthcare coverage from birth until at least five years of age. The researchers said: “Consistent with studies in other populations, we observed no association between MMR vaccination and increased ASD risk among privately insured children.”
