Sanofi enlists Google for transformative mission

French pharma major Sanofi (Euronext: SAN) has gone big in its latest effort to address the perennial problem of how to speed up medical innovation.

The Paris-based company has teamed up with tech giant Google to establish a new virtual innovation lab with the ambition of transforming how future medicines and health services are delivered by tapping into the power of emerging data technologies.

Ameet Nathwani, chief digital officer, chief medical officer and executive vice president, medical at Sanofi, said: “We stand on the forefront of a new age for biology and human health, with the opportunity to transform healthcare through partnerships with pioneering technology and analytics companies.
