Russians have significantly increased drugs purchases from other countries amid the ever-declining domestic range and the ever-growing isolation of the country in the international arena, reports The Pharma Letter’s local correspondent.
As the range of drugs available in Russian pharmacies has substantially declined after the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine, many of Russian citizens, travelling abroad in recent months have increased purchases of foreign drugs including those in reserve for further use as there is a high possibility that the current situation with drugs in Russia will continue to deteriorate. The range of such drugs is wide from painkillers to antibiotics.
Most of analysts expect foreign drugs purchases by will continue to grow despite those measures that are being taken by local authorities for the restriction of such supplies.
