The range medicines available in Russian pharmacies is steadily declining, which is mainly due to tough economic environment in the country, caused by Western sanctions and the existing problems with logistics, reports The Pharma Letter’s local correspondent.
In recent months the range of drugs in the Russian pharmaceutical retail chain has decreased by almost 2,000 items, while among the major reasons of this was the decline of imports and the reluctance of drugmakers to produce and supply to Russia unprofitable for them drugs.
According to analysts at the Russian DSM Group agency, in 2022 the supply in pharmaceutical retail decreased by almost 10%, or about 2,000 items and amounted to 21,600 units.
