The Russian government will start inspections of foreign drug manufacturers supplying their products to Russia starting from next year, in accordance with a recent decree signed by Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
That means that Russian inspectors will visit production facilities of all the importers of drugs to Russia, regardless their location, reports The Pharma Letter’s local correspondent.
According to an official spokesman for Veronika Skvortsova, Russia’s Minister of Health, those importers who have not passed the procedure within certain periods may lose the right to export their drugs to Russia. The planned inspections are expected to be conducted on regular basis - once every three years and will be fully comply with global standards.
