The Russian government may take a decision about the imposition of restrictions on the participation of foreign companies in tenders for the purchase of drugs for state needs already in the middle of October of the current year, according to an official spokesperson in the Russian government, writes The Pharma Letter's Russia correspondent.
It is planned that foreign drugmakers will not be allowed to participate in state tenders in the case of submitting of at least two bids from the manufacturers of the Customs Union (Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus). Restrictions will only apply to public procurement. The supplies of imported drugs to Russian pharmacies will not be a subject of any restrictions.
