A new drug that could be recommended for the treatment of all strains of coronavirus has recently been registered in Russia. The new drug is known as MIR-19, and its supplies to Russian hospitals will begin already soon.

MIR-19 was developed by the Russian Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA). It is available in the form of a liquid for inhalation.

As head of the FMBA Veronika Skvortsova said in an interview with Russia 24 TV channel, the drug is highly effective, and the FMBA plans to create two more types of drug in the form of a nasal spray. The nasal version of the "Mira-19" will be designed for prevention of COVID-19, as it will protect people who have come into contact with patients with COVID-19.
