Republicans have taken the chance to aim further criticism at the Affordable Care Act (ACA) amid US Senate proposals to repeal and replace the act.
The ACA, popularly known as Obamacare as it was introduced by the previous President Barack Obama, has been labelled a failure by his successor, Donald Trump, although the attempts of the Republican leader and his colleagues to come up with an alternative have been somewhat protacted.
On Thursday, Republican party leaders unveiled their proposed replacement with the Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017. It comes after the House of Representatives passed proposals last month.
