Leading pharma trade group the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association (IPHA) says the country will save 15 million euros ($18 million) through new price cuts on over 750 packs of innovative medicines.

Under a 2016 deal agreed with the Irish government, prices are reduced annually to ensure they are in line with 14 European Union reference countries.

The IPHA says the cash rebates from suppliers are increasing from 5.25% to 5.5%, and that over 750 million euros in overall savings will have been delivered by the end of 2020, when the agreement expires.
