President Putin to ease procedure for drug certification in Russia

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has ordered the national government to ease the process of certification of foreign drugs in Russia this year, according to recent statements of the Russian Presidential Administration, reports The Pharma Letter’s local correspondent.

According to recent statements from Mr Putin, certification of drugs in Russia is greatly delayed due to the bureaucracy in the registration system.

Mr Putin said he receives numerous complaints from global drugmakers operating in Russia, who say the procedure for obtaining a certificate for the production and sale of drugs in Russia may vary in the range of 1-1.5 years.
