The Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI), a network of global CEOs and private sector corporations targeting planet-friendly growth, has created a new task force focused on the healthcare sector.
Founded in 2020 by British royal and heir apparent Prince Charles, the SMI is focused on promoting sustainable economies that generate “long-term value through the balanced integration of natural, social, human and financial capital.”
Noting that the healthcare sector is estimated to produce approximately 4.4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, the SMI said the taskforce would focus on developing a “collective roadmap” to accelerate a reduction in such pollution.
