German pharma major Merck KGaA (NYSE: MRK) has appointed from within in naming the head of its newly-created corporate affairs unit.
Petra Wicklandt will lead the unit, which will be responsible for government and public affairs of the company’s three business sectors, as well as the corporate responsibility and global health activities of the group.
The stated objectives of the new group function are to ‘provide more efficient support to the businesses as they implement their objectives and to better steer group-wide initiatives’.
