Patient organizations have become more important in the USA

New research from the IQVIA Institute for Human Data Science shows the significant role that patient organizations play in the US healthcare system.

IQVIA found that, over the past five years, organizations falling into this category have contributed over $22 billion to patient services, research, and access to care, through grants.

There are over 3,000 patient groups in the country, with the 21st Century Cures Act ushering in a “seismic shift” in the role they play through collaborations with drugmakers.
