Opthea secures up to $170 million

Australia's Opthea (Nasdaq: OPT), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel therapies to treat highly prevalent and progressive retinal diseases, has announced a non-dilutive financing transaction for up to $170 million.

Financed by funds working with Launch Therapeutics, the investment will be used to advance the ongoing Phase III trials and pre-commercialization activities of OPT-302 for wet age-related macular degeneration.
