NRx Pharma stresses "promising findings" despite trial miss

Shares in USA-based NRx Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: NRXP) have fallen by around a fifth, after the firm announced disappointing results from a trial of NRX-101.

NRx is studying the drug, which has secured Breakthrough Therapy designation from the American medicines regulator, as a treatment for bipolar depression.

The firm said the results showed “a promising, though not yet statistically-significant 33% reduction in suicidality together with a 70% reduction in symptoms of akathisia.”
