Novartis reboots digital strategy with new appointment

Switzerland’s Novartis (NOV: N) has appointed Bertrand Bodson as chief digital officer, reporting directly to the CEO.

As well as automating business processes, Mr Bodson will be responsible for creating and executing a company-wide digital strategy with the aim of improving the way the company “uses data in drug discovery and development, and engages with patients, doctors and other stakeholders.”

Chief executive Joe Jimenez said: "This is not just about digital helping the business. Bertrand will help us transform our business model using digital technologies."
