Novartis collaborates with Surface Oncology

Swiss pharma giant Novartis (NOVN: VX) has entered into a strategic alliance and licensing agreement with US start-up company Surface Oncology, it has been announced.

Surface Oncology focuses on the development of next-generation cancer immunotherapies.

Under the terms of the agreement, Surface will receive up to $170 million in upfront, equity and near-term milestone payments, while Novartis will gain exclusive access to Surface’s current pipeline of novel cancer immunotherapies.
