NICE recommends Vargatef, Moventig and Cosentyx

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has issued final guidance for Vargatef (nintedanib) from German family-owned pharma major Boehringer Ingelheim.

Vargatef is recommended as an option for treating locally advanced, metastatic or locally recurrent non-small-cell lung cancer that has progressed after first-line chemotherapy.

It has also recommended Moventig (naloxegol) from Anglo-Swedish pharma major AstraZeneca (LSE: AZN), for treating opioid-induced constipation in adults whose symptoms have not adequately responded to laxatives, and Cosentyx (secukinumab) from Swiss drug major Novartis (NOVN: VX), for treating some adults with plaque psoriasis, but only when the company provides secukinumab with the discount agreed in the patient access scheme. The decision to recommend Cosentyx follows draft guidance given in May.
