Russia’s leading vaccines’ producer Natsimbio, together with the local drugmaker Pharmstandard and the Italian pharmaceutical producer Kedrion Biopharma, have reached an agreement of the establishment of a joint venture for the production of drugs from human blood plasma in Russia, according to the companies.

Under the terms of the agreement, the new production will be launched in the Russian city of Kirov, where Kedrion will complete a transfer of technology for blood fractionation and purification, reports The Pharma Letter’s local correspondent.

It is planned that the new plant will fully meet Russia’s needs for albumin, immunoglobulin and blood clotting factors VIII and IX.
