Multiple mRNA vaccine candidates to be explored by Sanofi and Translate Bio
USA-based messenger RNA (mRNA) specialist Translate Bio has entered into a multi-year R&D and licensing agreement with Sanofi’s (Euronext: SAN) vaccines business.
The deal will involve joint research to develop mRNA vaccines for up to five undisclosed infectious disease pathogens, over an initial three-year period.
Sanofi will pay $45 million straight away, and up to $805 million in potential milestones and option fees should the projects make it all the way to market, plus tiered royalties.
