Kyowa Hakko Kirin starts Ph III trial of ARQ 197 (tivantinib) in NSCLC patients in Asia

Japanese drugmaker Kyowa Hakko Kirin (TYO: 4151) says it has initiated an international Phase III clinical study evaluating the combination of ARQ 197 (tivantinib) and erlotinib in patients with advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in Asia (Japan, Korea, and Taiwan).

This study is a randomized, double-blind trial comparing overall survival (OS) of patients treated with ARQ 197 and erlotinib to OS of patients treated with placebo and erlotinib. The target number of patients to be enrolled in this study is 460.
