In a report likely to please French and Scandinavian readers and have the opposite effect on Italians and Spaniards, the cities hoping to host the new headquarters of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) have been ranked by the financial services firm KPMG.
With the EMA set to leave its London home due to Brexit, numerous candidates across Europe have thrown their hat in the ring to become the next host of the Agency, which employs around 900 people and is likely to bring opportunities for scientific partnerships and economic and trade benefits for the chosen city.
The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), a trade group representing pharma in Europe, developed a set of criteria for selecting a new location, using which KPMG assessed the merits of 16 cities.
