Swiss biopharma Kinarus Therapeutics Holding (SIX: KNRS) was trading more than 20% lower at lunchtime on Friday.
The five-year-old firm announced that the independent Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) has finished reviewing Kinarus’ Phase II KINETIC study using the oral drug combination KIN001 in hospitalized COVID-19 patients.
KIN001 is a patented combination of pamapimod, a highly selective clinical stage small molecule inhibitor of the p38 MAPK signaling pathway, and pioglitazone, a marketed drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
