Trade group the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association (IPHA) has said that a report published by the Health Services Executive (HSE) this week shows that the average price of a pack of medicine provided to patients through the community drugs schemes decreased to its lowest level in a decade.
Commenting on the report that was published last week, the IPHA said it evaluates the HSE’s Primary Care Reimbursement Service, which administers the delivery of a wide range of primary care services to the general public. The report shows that the average price of a pack of medicine reimbursed through the community drugs schemes in 2013 was lower than average prices in the previous 10 years.
