An historical review of spending on pharmaceuticals has provided some insight into the changing patterns of expenditure in five major countries.
The report from QuintilesIMS looks at the 20-year period from 1995 to 2015, and covers France, Germany, Japan, the UK, and the USA.
One key finding is that nominal drug expenditure has risen substantially for all of the countries, although when economic and population growth are taken into account, the increase is less pronounced.
