High-dose statins could be available from pharmacists, under UK plans
The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) is to review making high-dose statins available direct from pharmacists as part of its Long Term Plan to cut heart disease.
In a new review confirmed on Wednesday, England’s top pharmacist Keith Ridge and newly-appointed director of primary care, Nikki Kanani, will look at how the cholesterol-busting drugs could be provided by high street chemists.
