HHS Secretary working on 'more proposals' to bring down US drug prices

In an  interview with broadcast media, US Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said that his department was looking to augment the measures set out in the White House budget proposal, to further reduce drug prices.

“We look forward to working with Congress to get those proposals enacted and we're continuing to work with more proposals that we'll move forward with on our own authority if we're able,” he said.

President Donald Trump’s budget requests, which would include a 20% reduction to the budget of Mr Azar’s department, include taking a quarter of a billion dollars from Medicare by rolling back Obama-era expansions.
