Hervé Gisserot given newly-created Asia Pacific role at GSK

Experienced industry executive Hervé Gisserot is to become head of pharmaceuticals for the newly-created Asia Pacific Region at UK pharma major GlaxoSmithKline (LSE: GSK).

Mr Gisserot is currently the senior vice president and general manager for China/Hong Kong pharmaceuticals and vaccines at GSK, and his new role will lead him to relocate from Shanghai to Singapore from January 1, 2017.

The new Asia Pacific Region will include all markets currently in the Asia Pacific Area plus China and Hong Kong. Mr Gisserot, who has been with GSK for more than eight years after a decade working for French pharma major Sanofi (Euronext: SAN), will continue to report to Abbas Hussain, president of global pharmaceuticals.
