UK-based cannabis specialist GW Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: GWPH) is presenting data on the safety and efficacy of its CBD oral solution at the Annual European Congress of Epileptology, currently underway in Vienna.

Following its recent landmark US approval of Epidiolex (cannabidiol) for the treatment of seizures associated with rare epilepsies, the firm is awaiting a review from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to rule on its potential for abuse.

The studies also include data related to the pharmacology of CBD, and its antiseizure properties, which the firm says will provide additional understanding of CBD’s role in the management of such diseases.
