Genentech to slash 223 San Francisco jobs

The Genentech unit of Swiss pharma giant Roche (ROG: SIX) is to cut 223 jobs at its headquarters in San Francisco, USA.

News of the job losses was disclosed in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification posted on the California state website.

The posts being cut are across different departments and come after Genentech cut 130 jobs last year and Roche reduced its European head count by 235.
