A jointly-issued notice from the US FDA and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) warns the marketers and distributors of 12 opioid cessation products regarding the illegal marketing of unapproved products.
“Opioid addiction is a serious health epidemic that affects millions of Americans,” said FTC chairman Maureen Ohlhausen.
“Individuals and their loved ones who struggle with this disease need real help, not unproven treatments. We will continue to work together with the FDA to address this important issue.”
