ESMO and ASCO call for cancer investment

The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) have issued a joint statement calling for governments to renew their commitment to fighting cancer.

They put out the statement at the United Nations (UN) Civil Society Hearing on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in New York on Thursday.

"We are concerned that governments may find it easier to achieve their targets by reducing deaths from only some NCDs, leaving cancer patients behind"
